Community Connections Program

Our Community Connections Program offers a range of programs and services that support immigrant and refugee newcomers in Surrey and Delta on their journey to becoming active and engaged members of their new community.

Free English Classes

We offer informal conversational and workplace language classes. Students learn language skills for everyday use through practical and engaging activities.

Citizenship Preparation Classes

We provide a comprehensive range of knowledge, information, resources and language skills related to Canadian citizenship.

Community Connections Engagement

We connect newcomers to a variety of community events and coordinate field trips to increase social connection and explore local community resources.

Indigenous Engagement

We develop opportunities for newcomers to learn about Indigenous culture, history, and their place in the community. Newcomers are connected with Indigenous Peoples and participate in their community events and activities.

Newcomer Volunteer Engagement

We create opportunities for newcomers to volunteer in order to gain skills, increase social connection, build Canadian work experience and develop professional networks.

Youth Engagement

We offer engaging and interactive workshops, activities and events for newcomer youth. Youth develop important social, life and leadership skills, gain a better understanding of Canadian culture, and develop a sense of belonging in their communities.

Culture Café

We create a safe and welcoming space for newcomers and long-time residents of all backgrounds to come together, share their stories and experiences, and learn from each other in a culturally diverse environment.
