The WEE-R Project provides comprehensive skills training, wellness support and occupation-specific training/certification to unemployed and precariously employed visible minority and newcomer women.  

Employability Skills Training

Through blended online and in-person learning, participants are empowered through self-assessment, skill development and knowledge sharing. Participants are supported to assess their strengths, identify their career goals and utilize the information, resources and networks available to find meaningful employment.

Wellness Supports

Weekly group-based wellness sessions are coordinated to promote confidence building, empowerment and resilience. Alongside peers, participants explore how to develop healthy habits and coping strategies that foster wellness, which in turn supports employment stability.

Language Training Subsidy

To address language barriers, eligible participants are enrolled in a paid English language training course suited to their specific language needs.

Occupation-Specific Training & Certification

All participants are enrolled in Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C training.

For participants who complete all 12 weeks of skills training, a training subsidy is made available to support customized access to skill upgrading and certification. 

Support Services

Participants have access to supports that allow their participation in all aspects of the WEE-R Project, such as childcare and transportation support, as well as to client-use laptops.
