Threshold Multicultural Outreach

Have you experienced abuse, threats or violence in your relationship? Have you recently left your abusive partner, or decided to remain with them? Get support and empowerment from Threshold outreach staff, who offer services that will support you if you have experienced threats, abuse and/or violence including sexual assault and historical sexual abuse.

Services are offered in a safe, accepting and confidential environment in which you can explore your options and define your goals. Threshold staff recognize and respond to your cultural and lifestyle needs in addressing abuse.

How Threshold Works

Threshold staff will help regardless of whether you decide to leave or remain with your partner. If you have specific longer terms goals, our staff can also help you and your children in meeting your needs.

You can also receive guidance in finding specific services, including:

  • Translation services
  • Financial aid
  • Medical care
  • Legal assistance (advocacy for child custody, family/criminal court)
  • Court accompaniment
  • Housing
  • Immigration, sponsorship
  • Exploration of appropriate education, training and employment services
  • Parenting resources
  • Registering children in schools
  • Counselling

This program is funded by the Ministry of Justice.
