This program is for School District #36 (Surrey) students ages 10-16 identified as needing additional social/emotional supports.
Program Objective
To re-engage students to the school system and other positive community supports.
Program Description
OPTIONS for Schools is a partnerships between OPTIONS and School Distict #36 (Surrey). A need has been identified to further service the disengaged young adolescents of the area and OPTIONS for Schools is working to meet those needs. This partnership includes the T.R.E.K. Program, Lee School, one-on-one community outreach, alternate school support, and the Re-C.Y.C.L.E. Project.

T.R.E.K. Program- Supports 24 students ages 13-15 who have not experienced recent success in a regular academic environment. For more information click here.

Lee School- Supports 14 students ages 13-15 who have been identified as requiring additional support in a small classroom setting. Student Services: 604-596-9325.For more information click here.

One-on-one community outreach/alternate school support - Students are referred from elementary, secondary and alternate schools for social/emotional support in the community. Referrals come from student's school counseller, teacher or parent. For more information click here.

Re-C.Y.C.L.E Project - Vocational/Educational program designed to teach bike repair skills and allow students to earn a bike through volunteer hours. For more information click here.

Practicum Student Support Program - The Practicum Student Program will have between 5-10 students throughout the school year. It allows for more one-on-one support in the classroom which enhances the youth's classroom experience. For more information click here.

Program Funding
The core funding is supplied by School District #36 (Surrey) and is supplemented by grants received by OPTIONS.
