Growing Together Daycare

Who this program is for

Growing Together is an education and childcare program for young mothers and their children.

Program Objective

Growing Together daycare provides quality childcare to the infants and toddlers of young moms while they attend school to complete their high school education.

Program Description

The Growing Together Daycare is a licensed childcare program for infants and toddlers of moms attending the Growing Together Education program at Guildford Park Secondary.

Daycare hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. We are closed for all school holidays.

The daycare staff are trained in Early Childhood Education, first aid and food safe.

Children attending the daycare are assigned a primary caregiver which means that one adult will provide the primary care for four children each. There are usually eight children and two staff in each of the three playrooms. The rooms are divided into ages and are equipped with age appropriate toys and equiptment.

Parents are asked to provide bottles each day (if necessary) but all solid food and diapers are provided by the daycare. Breakfast is provided each day for the moms as well as lunch twice per week.

There is a Public Health Nurse who visits twice per week at lunch. Her duties include immunization and answering any health related questions about the moms and babies.
