Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP)

Being a great parent means being caring and committed, and setting long-term goals to be the best parent you can be for your child. At the STEP program, we can help get you there: become more attuned your children’s feelings and behavior, learn strategies for developing your child-self esteem and confidence, and learn positive parenting approach to understanding and raising your children.

Topics covered by the STEP programs include:

  • Mutual respect
  • Misbehaviour
  • Problem solving
  • Age-appropriate discipline
  • Cooperation
  • Self-esteem
  • And more.

Groups run for six weeks. Child-minding and snacks are provided.

The STEP program is offered for parents who have children that fall in three separate age groups:

STEP 0-6: children age 0-6
STEP 6-12: children age 6-12
Raising Teens without Battles: teenagers.

This Program Is for:
Parents, grandparents, caregivers

Type of Program:
Pre-registered group, workshops and courses

Requirements:

Must have children within specified age limit for group

Referral:
Self-referral,  Ministry of Children and Family Development
